Bihar’s Education Department recently implemented severe measures to prevent fraudulent enrollment in government and government-aided schools in the Siwan district. This move is being done to ensure justice for students who want to study at the school and are not only enrolling for the sake of Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) or free textbooks.
As per the latest updates, students must now submit their Aadhaar number as well as their birth certificate or bank account when enrolling.
In response to fake nominations in the academic year 2024-25, the Director of Secondary Education (DoSE) has issued some crucial directives to the District Education Officer (DEO), as per reports. Additionally, a new nomination will only be considered after a thorough inquiry.
According to Local18, District Education Officer (DEO) Rajinder Singh said that children’s Aadhaar cards and bank accounts will now have to be given at the time of enrollment to school. Children who are currently enrolled in school will also be required to produce their Aadhaar card and bank account number. Otherwise, students will not be able to take advantage of government programmes.
DEO Rajendra Singh stated that formerly, children were admitted simply by showing their Aadhar card. To enable the children to benefit from government schemes, their parents’ bank account numbers were included. A large sum of money was embezzled, and fraud was committed. To address this, orders have been issued that children will now be admitted only if they have their bank account number and Aadhar card.
In addition, when the children’s data is posted to the Management Information System (MIS) portal, all of their Aadhar cards and bank accounts with comprehensive information will be uploaded as well. This will prevent fraud from occurring.
As per the Education Department’s instructions, the District Education Officer has asked officials, as well as headmasters and teachers, to ensure that there is no fraudulent enrollment in the schools.
