According to the official information, the interview for recruitment will start on May 24. Through this, candidates from different subjects will be interviewed for a total of 4108 vacancies, out of which 755 are backlog vacancies.

In 2020, there was recruitment for a total of 4638 assistant professor posts at 13 universities in the state. At that time, 531 teachers were reinstated. But the remaining reinstatement process was put on hold by the Patna High Court for not following the reservation roster. Now the interviews with the remaining candidates will start again. The High Court has ordered to recruit assistant professors in understaffed state universities, but with the preparation of a reservation roster for each university.
“There is no question of combining the vacancies in all universities for the preparation of the reservation roster, and the direction to do so by the learned single-judge bench stands set aside. It has to be done separately, going by the university-wise, subject-wise roster preparation,” the two-judge bench of chief justice K Vinod Chandran and justice Harish Kumar said earlier.
