The Bihar Education Department has made major changes in the time tables of government schools across the state. As per more information, the changes in the timings will be applied from May 16. The change is being done to the levels of primary, middle and higher secondary government schools, including the schools in the city of Sitamarhi. The institutions will now operate from 6:00 am to 1:30 pm. The notice has been issued by the Director of Secondary Education, Kanhaiya Prasad, from the Education Department of the state. Earlier, the school timings were fixed at 10 am to 4 pm, till the commencement of summer vacations on April 15.
The schools will remain operational for students from 6 am to 12 pm, while from 12 pm to 1:30 pm, Mission Daksh classes will be taken for weak students. Within the mentioned timings, the tasks of homework checking, utility check, weekly evaluation copies, monthly evaluation copy checking and text commentary will be completed. While the work of students, admissions and administrative work will also be carried out.
According to more information, the new rule will be followed till June 30, 2024 and will be applicable from May 16. The District Education Officers are asked to ensure 90 percent attendance of all the pupils under this time period. An order was carried out to all the headmasters of the various districts detailing the changes. The notice specifically mentions that after all the periods, the health of the children should not be compromised due to the heat.
The initiative of Mission Daksh was launched by the Bihar government to aid academically weak students. It aims to help a reported 25 lakh students in the state. It will provide assistance in subjects like Hindi, Mathematics and English, to the students of 3rd and 8th grades.
