'Still Got it': MS Dhoni's Age-defying Diving Catch Has Chepauk Crowd Go Berserk - WATCH
MS Dhoni produced a fine display from behind the stumps to take the catch to get rid of Vijay Shankar in CSK's home fixture against the Gujarat Titans.

Chennai Super Kings legend, MS Dhoni is showcasing that age is truly just a number as he managed to produce another stellar catch from behind the stumps to get rid of Gujarat Titans’ Vijay Shankar at the M.A Chidambaram Stadium on Tuesday.

Having set a target of 207, GT looked to pick up the pace having lost both their openers for cheap and with pressure building on the batting side with the run-rate picking up as well.

The part-timer, Daryl Mitchell had come in to bowl for his first over and got the fuller delivery to get the edge towards the right side of the keeper. Dhoni had to dive well beside his mark to take the catch with both hands as the crowds erupted.

CSK managed to put on a high target of 207 runs thanks to the efforts from Shivam Dube who scored fifty along with 46 runs from Rachin Ravindra and Ruturaj Gaikwad to put the hosts in front.

Their youngster, Sameer Rizvi also chipped in with a quick cameo, scoring 15 runs off his first three deliveries in the IPL going against the all-time great T20 spinner, Rashid Khan which also put a smile on MS Dhoni’s face.

Dhoni’s time with the franchise as a player is likely coming to the final stages as he has already handed down the role of captaincy to Gaikwad just before the start of the season. The 27-year-old began his stint as the captain on a positive with a convincing win over the Royal Challengers Bengaluru at home to bring up their first two points of the season.

Rizvi has also shown potential despite only being one game to be the finisher for the side in the future as well.

The Chennai fans will be eager to see ‘Thala’ walk out and contribute with the bat at some point but the former skipper has taken a lesser role in particular with the bat by coming in very late.

This has been ongoing since the last season and with the new impact substitute rule, this allows the side to play the additional batter when required.

But MSD has shown that he has still got what it takes to deliver for the side, especially on the field. He had picked up a knee injury last season and played through it as the side went on to secure their fifth title under MSD’s leadership.
