SRH vs CSK: Power Restored at Uppal Stadium After HCA's Unpaid Electricity Bill Over 3 Crores
The upcoming game between SRH and CSK is set to take place as scheduled with the HCA issuing an update that the power has been restored at the Uppal Stadium.

Fans who are set to travel to watch the upcoming Indian Premier League 2024 (IPL 2024) clash between the Sunrisers Hyderabad and Chennai Super Kings can breathe a sigh of relief as the game is set to take place as per schedule following an update provided by the Hyderabad Cricket Board (HCA) with regards to reports on the Electricity Department cutting the power supply and the Uppal Stadium for not clearing their dues.

A statement from the HCA President’s Office read, “Ahead of the IPL match between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Chennai Super Kings today, the Electricity Department has restored power supply at Uppal Cricket Stadium, Hyderabad. The IPL match between SRH and CSK will continue as usual”.

It was earlier reported by News18.com that the power supply to the stadium had been cut off due to the board not clearing dues which went over Rs 3 crores. Of the total amount, 1.6 crores was only the surcharge amount which the board had requested to be waived off but the electricity department refused to do so.

The upcoming game in Hyderabad will be a crucial one for both sides as they look to get back to winning ways. Pat Cummins’ SRH has had only one win in the three games they have played so far which game in the record-setting fixture against the Mumbai Indians where they set the highest T20 innings score of 277 runs.

CSK on the other hand have had a more positive start to the tournament under the leadership of the new skipper, Ruturaj Gaikwad who was officially handed down the role as skipper just before their opening game against the Royal Challengers Bengaluru.

The defending champions started off winning two games on the bounce following their first loss which came in the away game against the Delhi Capitals at Vizag.
