Former Pakistan cricket team captain Shoaib Malik and his wife and former Indian tennis player Sania Mirza recently celebrated their son Izhaan’s first-ever victory in a swimming competition. The swimming event was reportedly organised by a private academy in the United Arab Emirates. It was also five-year-old Izhaan’s maiden participation in a sports competition.
Malik shared a couple of pictures on Instagram to celebrate his son’s brilliant achievement. “Baba is super proud of ya. First competition & a win,” read the caption of the post.

Shoaib Malik and Sania Mirza had tied the knot back in 2010 and welcomed their son, Izhaan in October 2018. Speculations of the power couple’s divorce were rife recently and the rumours snowballed after a minor change in Shoaib’s Instagram bio was noticed.
Shoaib had removed “Husband to a superwoman @mirzasaniar” from his Instagram bio and changed it to “Father to One True Blessing.”
Burying all those speculations, Shoaib Malik and Sania Mirza came together earlier this year in October to celebrate their son’s fifth birthday. Shoaib even shared quite a few pictures from Izhaan’s birthday party which reportedly took place in Dubai. In one picture, the father-son duo were seen standing at a table with a customised cake. In another picture, Sania was spotted holding her niece Dua. “Happy birthday, beta. Baba loves you,” Shoaib had written along with a heart emoji.

One of the finest tennis players ever to play for India, Sania Mirza retired from the professional game earlier this year in February. In her illustrious tennis career, Sania won six doubles Grand Slam titles and 43 major titles. Shoaib Malik, on the other hand, announced his retirement from ODIs in 2019. In international cricket, he was last seen in action in November 2021 during a T20I match against Bangladesh.
