The Pakistan cricket team are currently preparing for the much-awaited four-match T20I series scheduled to be played against England. Ahead of their opening game in Leeds today, Pakistan’s star pacer Haris Rauf shared a heartwarming video of himself playing cricket with his mother. Accompanied by the Bollywood song Ve Kamleya in the background, the clip begins with Haris coming up with a slower ball for his mother. Haris then took the bat himself to play some defensive shots. Dressed in an all-black outfit, the Pakistan pacer was all smiles as he enjoyed some cricket on his terrace. “My happy place”, Haris wrote in his Instagram post.
The heartwarming clip between Haris Rauf and his mother has attracted a ton of reactions in the comments section. One of them hilariously provided some commentary to back up some shots from Haris’ mother. The reply read, “Haris’ mom goes down the ground. Haris’ mom goes out of the ground.”.
Another wrote how she was extremely pleased to see the cricketer smile in the video, “Seeing you smile like that made my whole day”.

Another Instagram user talked about how a cricketer’s family members should be respected regardless of their nationalities. “Whether it’s India or Pakistan, no one should say anything about their family, especially mom”.

Haris Rauf has not seen much international action recently, missing Pakistan’s three-match T20I series against Ireland. The Asian giants seemed to miss the presence of Haris greatly as they narrowly escaped with a 2-1 series win over the Irish side. It was Hasan Ali who replaced the Pakistani pacer.
Haris Rauf had last competed for his nation against New Zealand back in January. It was the 4th T20I of the series where Pakistan were batting first. A 63-ball 90 from Mohammad Rizwan saw the Asian giants post 158 at the loss of five wickets in the first innings. During the run chase, none of the pacers stepped up for Pakistan. Haris also remained wicketless in 3.1 overs as the Kiwis bagged a seven-wicket win. With Pakistan still left to announce their squad for the T20 World Cup, there are still some doubts surrounding Haris Rauf’s selection.
