KKR Charter Plane Diverted to Guwahati After Failing to Land in Kolkata Due to Inclement Weather

IPL franchise Kolkata Knight Riders’ charter flight to Kolkata was diverted after failing to land in the city due to inclement weather. The plan was first diverted to Guwahati before making another attempt to land in Kolkata which also proved futile.

It was again diverted before finally landing in Varanasi.

The news was confirmed by the official Instagram handle of Kolkata Knight Riders. But the mood is fairly positive in the Kolkata-based unit.

A good reason for this is that the franchise has been peaking at just the right time with the tournament approaching its business end where all the sides will be gunning for a place in the top four. KKR are currently top of the table following the massive win over LSG.

Most of their players are also in red-hot form and leading the charge is none other than Sunil Narine who is having the dream season. He’s among the top five players for both the Orange and Purple caps races.

Varun Chakravarthy is the leading wicket-taker for the side with a tally of 16 wickets and despite the poor start to the season, his rise to form has made the bowling unit a lethal force to be reckoned with. They also have depth in the squad with the likes of Vaibhav Arora who has been decent, especially with the new ball.

KKR will next take on Mumbai Indians at the Eden Gardens.
