IPL 2024: Ravindra Jadeja Addressing CSK Fans in Tamil is a Wholesome Moment | WATCH
Chennai Super Kings have dubbed Ravindra Jadeja as Thalapathy.

Ravindra Jadeja seems to have developed a great bond with the Tamil culture during his time with the Indian Premier League franchise, Chennai Super Kings. The spin-bowling all-rounder was roped in by CSK ahead of the 2012 edition. He spent the first three seasons with Rajasthan Royals and won the inaugural title. Since joining the Chennai-based side, Jadeja has improved a lot under the captaincy of MS Dhoni, eventually becoming a core member of the Yellow family.

Some members of the current CSK unit recently appeared at a public event where they interacted with the fans. On that occasion, Ravindra Jadeja was asked if he had any knowledge of the Tamil language. The Gujarat-born cricketer might not be fluent but was able to entertain the local crowd.

Jadeja graciously picked up the mic and reversed the question, “Do you know Tamil?” in the native language. He also asked the fans some basic questions and suggested that they should “stay hydrated” amid this scorching heat of summer. Jadeja signed off by saying “I love you” in Tamil.

Glimpses of his conversation were dropped on the official Instagram account of CSK, with the caption, “Thamizh Theriyuma? (Do you know Tamil?) Ft. Thalapathy!”

Ravindra Jadeja was the hero of Chennai Super Kings’ triumph in the last IPL. The all-rounder chased down ten runs in the last two deliveries of the final game against Gujarat Titans in Ahmedabad. On the back of his miraculous finish, MS Dhoni and Co. engraved CSK’s name on the IPL trophy for the fifth time, becoming the most successful team in tournament history alongside arch-rivals Mumbai Indians.

Ravindra Jadeja, however, has looked a bit pale in the ongoing IPL. He has so far played all games for the defending champions this season. The Southpaw has recorded 157 runs at a strike rate of 131. His best performance came in an away clash against Lucknow Super Giants.

After the CSK top order collapsed in the game, Jadeja struck an unbeaten 57, helping his team post a modest 176 on the board. He has also picked five wickets in the tournament. In a home game against Kolkata Knight Riders, Jadeja fetched a three-wicket haul, giving away only 18 runs during his four-over spell. He will return to action when CSK host Punjab Kings at Cheauk on Wednesday, May 1.
