'Honestly You're the Reason I Made it This Far': David Warner Posts Heartfelt Note For Wife Candice After ODI-Test Retirement
David Warner, on Monday, posted a heartfelt note for Candice on Instagram and thanked her for being his support system.

Veteran Australia opener David Warner shared a heartfelt note for his wife Candice Warner after retirement from Test cricket. Warner, who is very vocal about his views and opinions, has often shared his admiration for his wife for the kind of support she has been in his life.

Warner drew the curtain on his 112-Test career with a swashbuckling 57 against Pakistan, leaving his home Sydney Cricket Ground to a standing ovation. The swashbuckling opener finished his Test and ODI career as Australia one of the finest ever.

Warner, on Monday, posted a heartfelt note for Candice on Instagram and thanked her for being his support system.

“I write this with a lot of emotions. What can I say!!! Honestly, you, @candywarner1, are the reason I made it this far. I’ve said it many times before: 4 am wake-ups, you’re off your head. Cricket players do not need to do this, but the thought of what discipline meant to me was that I didn’t know the real meaning.

“We don’t train at that hour, we don’t play at that hour, but what it does do is change mindset to what impossible is to be made possible. I can’t thank you enough for entering my world and giving me the best chance of doing what I love for as long as I did,” Warner wrote.

The swashbuckling opener further expressed his love for his Candice and said there is not better role model than her for their three daughters.

“You’ve faced challenges with grace and determination, showing me what true courage looks like. Your unwavering support and boundless optimism have been a source of inspiration for me, and I am grateful for the way you’ve transformed my world with your presence. I can’t imagine life without you.

You’ve shown me the true meaning of love, and I am forever grateful to have you by my side. Your unwavering belief in me has given me the strength to push forward, and your unwavering love has shown me the beauty of the human you are. You’ve also constantly been there for our girls when I was away and never once have I ever heard you say this is tough, challenging or too hard. You’re solid, loyal and my goodness tough as nails. There is no better role model than you for our three beauties.”

“Thank you for being my partner, my rock, in this incredible journey called life. I am grateful for your love, your strength, and your support. Here’s to you, my love, for being the extraordinary woman that you are. I am blessed to have you in my life, and I will cherish you always. I love you,” he concluded.

Warner burst on the red-ball scene in the home series against New Zealand in 2011, joining an elite club by carrying his bat through an innings to post a maiden hundred in only his second Test.

Meanwhile, his illustrious career also faced several ups and downs as the biggest one was the sandpaper gate in 2018. He served a year ban from competitive cricket and a lifetime suspension from captaincy by Cricket Australia.

However, the swashbuckling bounced back and finished his career on high as one of the best all-format batters in world cricket.
