As the ongoing T20 World Cup is set to witness the marquee clash between two rival nations, India and Pakistan go toe-to-toe at the Nassau County International Stadium on June 9, India’s star all-rounder, Hardik Pandya remains excited but does not fall for the hype of the massive clash.
The pace-bowling all-rounder will likely play a crucial role in India’s run for an ICC title and against Pakistan. Hardik relishes the opportunities to play in high-profile games and welcomes the responsibilities.
“Standing in big games is very exciting for me. I find it extra special and Pakistan has been one team where I have been very fortunate, I have been able to do well in a lot of games,” Pandya told ‘Star Sports’.
Speaking ahead of the marquee match-up, Pandya sees the game as a historic one which is set to take place in the Americas for the first time.

“It all comes down to the vibe. Hold your breath, this is a request. This is not a fight, this is going to be history,” said Pandya.
While there will be a lot of buzz regarding the high-profile match-up between two rival nations, Pandya insists that he wants to remain disciplined and focus on the team’s objectives.
Pandya said, “India-Pakistan has always been very exciting, a lot of cheer and buzz, a lot of emotion and a lot of excitement but at the same time, I hope we will be disciplined in that game, one goal as a group is we go and kind of hunt”.
“So, if we can do that, I think it will be one more nice day for us,” he added.
Both sides have had fairly contrasting starts to their respective campaigns.

India led by Rohit Sharma, put a clinical performance against Ireland to get their first points in the group stage. Meanwhile, Pakistan, led by Babar Azam started their campaign with a defeat against the co-hosts USA by a margin of five runs in a Super Over.
Both sides will be desperate to get their hands on the title and a victory in the IND vs PAK game will surely help their cause.
