Frustration in Pakistan, Happy with India: Fans Share Bowling Coach Morne Morkel’s Contrasting Emotions
Morne Morkel was the happiest man in the Indian dressing room as the South African’s coaching stint with Team India kicked off on a high.

Morne Morkel was all smiles on Friday as the Indian bowling attack left no stone unturned in putting the Bangladesh batter on the mat on the second day of the ongoing Chennai Test. The newly-appointed bowling coach of Team India cherished every wicket taken by Jasprit Bumrah & Co on an unusual Chepauk track that has been surprisingly assisting the fast bowlers.

After India were bundled out for 376, Bumrah led the charge and provided an early breakthrough in the morning session. The ace pacer drew first blood, cleaning up opening batter Shadman Islam. Soon, Akash Deep joined the party with back-to-back wickets to further dent the Bangla batting line-up.

Right after the lunch break, Siraj added to the visitors’ woes by removing skipper Najmul Hasan Shanto while Bumrah packed another punch by taking down veteran Mushfiqur Rahim. Bangladesh were reduced to 40 for 5 when former captain Shakib Al Hasan and wicketkeeper-batter Litton Das forged a 51-run stand for the 6th wicket. That’s when Ravindra Jadeja burst into the scene and ended the camaraderie by taking down both set batters.

At the stroke of tea, Bumrah returned into the attack and removed Hasan Mahmud as Bangladesh were tottering at 112/8.

Meanwhile, Morkel was the happiest man in the Indian dressing room as the South African’s coaching stint with Team India kicked off on a high. While his delighted mood set social media abuzz, a few netizens also shared his disappointed reactions during his association with the Pakistan cricket team in the same capacity.

Have a look at the social media posts:

The Indian bowlers knifed through the Bangladesh line-up to leave the visitors reeling at 112 for eight at tea. Mehidy Hasan Miraz was batting on 12 when tea was taken, and Bangladesh were still trailing by 264 runs.
