'Don’t Waste Your Time There Gary': Social Media Goes Wild as Gary Kirsten Calls Out Lack of Unity in Pakistan Unit

Pakistan head coach Gary Kirsten blasted the lack of unity in the side following their early exit from the ongoing ICC T20 World Cup in the USA and West Indies as Babar Azam and Co. failed to make it to the Super 8 stages.

“There’s no unity in Pakistan’s team. They call it a team, but it isn’t a team. They aren’t supporting each other; everyone is separated, left and right. I’ve worked with many teams, but I’ve never seen such a situation,” Kirsten was quoted as saying after the side’s exit from the ICC showpiece.

Kirsten was backed by fans and pundits alike as former Indian spinner Harbhajan Singh threw his support behind the South African.

A fan posted an update that read, “Deeply disturbing statement of Pakistan coach Gary Kirsten. If it is true the players responsible must be taken out of the team irrespective of their stats and star status.”

Another user took a dig at the Pakistan cricket team with a video clip with the caption, “Gary Kirsten right now”.

Another user shared a post that read, “Unreal downfall of Gary Kirsten.. that’s what happens when he goes straight from a professional team like Gujarat Titans to a club level team like Pakistan”

Pakistan were pooled in Group A alongside India, USA, Canada and Ireland. They opened their campaign with back-to-back losses against USA and rivals India, before their game against Canada was washed out and they picked up their first points of the tournament.

However, they was shown the exit door as the fixture between USA and Canada, which was also washed out, ensured that India and hosts USA would progress in the tournament at the cost of Pakistan.
