Vijith Bachan, son of the award-winning filmmaker Thangar Bachan, is poised to make his acting debut in the upcoming film Peranbum Perungobamum. Directed by Siva Prakash, a graduate of Balu Mahendra’s film school, Cinema Pattarai, this film marks both Vijith and Siva’s entry into the world of cinema. Joining them is Shali Nivekas, making her debut as the female lead.
Peranbum Perungobamum promises to be an investigative thriller, drawing inspiration from multiple true incidents across different timelines. Director Siva elaborated on the film, stating, “The story delves into three distinct phases of the protagonist’s life. With Vijith’s background as a trained theatre actor, I was confident in his ability to portray this multifaceted character. We have completed shooting and are currently in the post-production stage.”
In addition to the lead cast, the film boasts a supporting ensemble including Mime Gopi, Arul Das, Subatra Robert, Deepa, and Sai Vinod. Notably, legendary musician Ilaiyaraaja composed the film’s music, while Dinesh and Ramar handled cinematography and editing, respectively. Produced by Riota Media Productions, Peranbum Perungobamum explores the struggles of an ordinary man against societal injustices.
It’s worth mentioning that Vijith was initially slated to debut under his father’s direction in the film Takku Mukku Tikku Thalam, co-starring Milana Nagaraj and Ashwini. Thangar Bachan spared no effort to ensure his son’s debut was a resounding success, even penning a song for the film.
Meanwhile, Thangar Bachan’s last directorial venture was Karumegangal Kalaiginrana, featuring a star-studded cast including Bharathirajaa, Gautham Menon, and Yogi Babu. Mamta Mohandas and Aditi Balan also played pivotal roles in the film, which premiered on September 1, 2023.
As anticipation mounts for Vijith Bachan’s debut and the release of Peranbum Perungobamum, all eyes are on this promising newcomer and the team behind this intriguing thriller. With seasoned talent and fresh faces coming together, the film promises to deliver a compelling cinematic experience for audiences.
