Meghana Raj, a prominent name in the South Indian film industry, is the daughter of a notable yesteryear actress who still maintains her charm and is loved by many. Her mother is the renowned actress Pramila Joshai, known for her screen presence in several notable films.

Pramila made her mark in the Tamil film industry with her debut in the 1978 film Thappu Thalangal, directed by K. Balachander. This movie, starring the superstar Rajinikanth and Saritha, showcased Pramila’s talent alongside other acclaimed actors. Produced by R. Venkataraman under the banner of Premaalaya, the film earned her recognition for her impactful performance.

Another noteworthy role for Pramila came in the 1984 film Vaidehi Kathirunthal, directed by R. Sundarrajan. Acting alongside the late actor-politician Vijayakanth and Revathi, Pramila delivered a memorable performance in this film, which also featured a stellar supporting cast. Pramila Joshai tied the knot with Kannada actor Sundar Raj and their union brought forth a daughter, Meghana Raj, who followed in her mother’s footsteps to become an actress in the South Indian film industry. Meghana has gained acclaim for her roles in films such as Iruvudellava Bittu Beautiful Bahuparak and Memories.

Pramila’s last on-screen appearance was in the Kannada film Bahuparak, released in 2014.
