XLRI's General Management Programme placement 2007 has seen its 49 students getting as many as 106 offers from 26 companies.

New Delhi: IIMs are not the only management institutes where students are getting job offers with fat pay cheques, with city-based Xavier Labour Relations Institute touching the USD 100,000 figure in this year's placements.

XLRI's General Management Programme placement 2007 has seen its 49 students getting as many as 106 offers from 26 companies, including Tata Motors, JSPL and Anil Ambani Group.

While the highest international offer was $100,000, the highest domestic one stood at Rs 35 lakh and the average salary on offer for the GMP class of 2007 was Rs 15 lakh.

According to XLRI sources, offers poured in from diverse sectors like investment banks, FMCG, telecom, banking, management consulting, manufacturing, IT and ITES.

ADAG, Atos Origin, Cognizant, JSPL, Mindtree Consulting, RPG group, SBI Caps, Tech Mahindra and Tata Motors were among the companies that participated in the placement process for the one-year fully residential programme.

"Given the care with which we selected participants, the thinking that went into the design of the programme and the quality and delivery of the programme, we were always confident of the success of the placement process," XLRI chairperson Uday Damodaran said.

"But the enthusiastic response of recruiters exceeded even our own expectations. Notably so, because a significant number of participating companies even had their managing directors on their interview panels," he added.
