Neetu Kapoor is beaming with joy as her son Ranbir Kapoor and daughter-in-law Alia Bhatt stole the limelight at an award event. Ranbir Kapoor clinched the prestigious Best Actor In A Leading Role (Male) award for his outstanding performance in the film Animal, while Alia Bhatt was honoured with the title of Best Actress In A Leading Role (Female) for her remarkable role in Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani.
In her latest Instagram post, Neetu Kapoor revealed she “secretly prayed and wished a repeat of 2019” when Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt together were honoured for their phenomenal performances in Sanju and Raazi, respectively. Sharing two captivating photos side by side, one from the recent award function and the other from the 2019 event, she expressed her joy at witnessing a similar recognition for the duo. Along with the post, she wrote, “I secretly prayed n wished a repeat of 2019 ( Sanju razi ) so happy it happened again !!! Congratulations both of you. proud very very proud. #animal #rockyranikipremkahani”
In Rocky Aur Rani, Alia Bhatt takes on the role of Rani Chatterjee, a Bengali journalist, who finds herself entangled in a love story with Ranveer Singh’s character, the affluent West-Delhi tycoon, Rocky Randhawa. Ranbir Kapoor, on the other hand, plays Ranvijay in Animal who grapples with a complex relationship with his father, Balbir Singh, played by Anil Kapoor.
Neetu Kapoor’s post quickly garnered an outpouring of best wishes from fans. One admirer expressed, “Well deserved. They are the best today. Heartiest congratulations to both of them, and also to you, Madam.” Another supporter chimed in, saying, “Congratulations to the most talented couple.”

Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor’s significant awards were a big moment for the couple, but the real highlight of the event was a video of them dancing to a song from Animal. Ranbir Kapoor captivated the audience with his rendition of the Jamal Kudu hook step, all while sharing the dance floor with his wife, Alia Bhatt, who was seated among the audience. The duo shook their leg while holding a glass on the head just like Lord Bobby. Ranbir also gave Alia a sweet kiss on the cheek.
The awards took place at a grand event in Gandhinagar, Gujarat, on Sunday, January 28. The glitzy affair was hosted by Karan Johar, Ayushmann Khurrana, and Maneish Paul. The coveted title of Best Film was awarded to Vikrant Massey and Vidhu Vinod Chopra’s 12th Fail.
