‘I Was Sold On The Idea’: Emraan Hashmi On Being The Villain In Tiger 3
The actor recently reacted to the immense praise being showered on the film and described it as genuinely remarkable.

The audience was in for a surprise when Tiger 3 released last year and Emraan Hashmi’s anti-hero performance hooked them to the screen. While his role was critically acclaimed, the actor is yet again being showered with praise after the film started to stream online on Prime Video on January 7. The actor recently reacted to the immense praise being showered on the film and described it as genuinely remarkable.

In a recent media interaction, Emraan Hashmi shared “I was sold on the idea to play a villain who is as shrewd and cunning as he is powerful enough to take on an iconic hero like Tiger in hand-to-hand combat.” He added that Aditya Chopra and Maneesh Sharma established a unique anti-hero role for him to explore and personalise. He was overjoyed that the public loved Tiger 3 when it first came out in theatres and went on to become a huge success. They are once again showering him with affection now that Tiger 3 is available on OTT.

He further shared, “It is truly special when a film keeps giving you appreciation and respect again and again. This means that a film has made a place for itself in the books of time.” Emraan Hashmi shared the screen with Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif in Tiger 3, which was released during Diwali last year and was a box office hit.

Meanwhile, Emraan Hashmi will next be seen in the web series titled Showtime directed by Mihir Desai and Archit Kumar. It is being produced by Karan Johar Dharmatic production. The teaser for the series was released last month and has raised curiosity among viewers. It gives a sneak peak into the powerful characters. The series will also feature Mahima Makwana, Mouni Roy, Naseeruddin Shah, Rajeev Khandelwal and Shriya Saran in pivotal roles. The series deals with the world of cinema and touches upon themes such as nepotism and power battles in the industry.

Speaking about the upcoming show, Emraan stated, “Being in the industry for so long, I have seen both the good and bad side of it, so when this show came to me, I grabbed the opportunity of being a part of it and could resonate with it on various levels.” Showtime is a Hotstar Original and will be released on the streaming platform Disney+ Hotstar this year.
