In a horrifying incident, a three-year-old girl was crushed to death by a car in Bengaluru on December 9. The child was playing outside when the car first hit her, after which she was run over with the front wheel.

The incident was caught on a CCTV camera, where the footage shows the car running over the girl, who was sitting and playing on the road.

The footage shows onlookers walking past the child, who was lying on the ground. Later, a man walks towards the child and picks her up from the ground.

Police had initially registered a case regarding the girl’s death, an India Today report said. However, investigations revealed that a car, she was run over by a car, which was exiting the same apartment building she lived in.

Post-mortem report revealed that the three-year-old suffered internal head injuries.

In October, at least 13 people were killed in a road accident on National Highway 44 in Karnataka’s Chikkaballapur. The accident took place after a car, an SUV, collided with a stationary truck on the Bangalore-Hyderabad NH44.

Of the accident victims, who died on the spot, four were women, sources said.

“The exact cause of the accident remains under investigation, but initial probe suggest that the incident was caused because of low visibility due to fog,” DL Nagesh, Chikkaballapur Superintendent of Police said.

In another tragic incident in Karnataka, three differently-abled children, including two brothers, were run over by a suburban train near Urapakkam on the city’s outskirts on October 24.

Earlier in August, a father-son duo were killed in a hit-and-run case which took place near Bengaluru’s ISRO Circle.

A speeding car rammed into another car and a autorickshaw before hititng a motorcycle parked on the roadside, leaving the two dead and one other injured.

Locals said that the accused were seemingly drunk and their speeding car first rammed into an auto-rickshaw and a parked car before hitting the stationary bike.
