Volvo XC90 T8 Excellence Hybrid launched at Rs 1.25 Crore (ex-showroom Delhi)
Volvo XC90 T8 Excellence has a combined power output to 407 hp and 640 Nm torque.

Claimed to be the most luxurious model ever created in the 89 year history of Volvo, the XC90 T8 Excellence has been launched in India at a price tag of Rs 1.25 Crore (ex-showroom, Delhi).

Based on the existing XC90, the T8 gets a hybrid power train. The engine is a 2.0-litre 4-cylinder petrol unit that is both turbocharged and supercharged which makes it deliver 320 horsepower. Add to that the 87 horsepower electric motor which takes the combined power output to 407 hp and 640 Nm torque. What this means is that the car, despite being a 7-seater SUV, can go from 0-100 km/h in just 5.6 seconds.

There are three driving modes on offer as well - Pure, Hybrid and Power, which alter the behaviour of the car based on driver requirement. What's interesting is that Volvo is offering two charging in the orice of the T8 Excellence which will be installed by Volvo experts at locations of customer choice which can charge the car in 2.5 hours.

According to the company, if the charging stations are installed at home and office then it provides upto 80 km per day of emission-free driving. There are plenty of driver assistance systems on offer as well like adaptive cruise control with stop-go function, radar assistance, rear collision warning, blind spot detection, park pilot assist and lane departure warning.

The car does not have a direct hybrid competitor as such in the Indian market but in terms of pricing, it competes with the likes of the Porsche Cayenne and the recently launched Keep Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT.
