The Australia-based energy drink company Red Bull has unveiled its first-ever road car named RB17 globally. The curtain from the hypercar has been removed at the ongoing Goodwood Festival of Speed 2024.
It has been reported that the company has priced the performance-oriented hypercar at 6.2 million dollars (roughly Rs 51.78 crore). The model has been designed by F1’s Adrian Newey.
Limited Units
As per the official details, the brand has restricted the model and developed only 50 units. Each model comes with an F1 level of performance, allowing the driver to experience quick acceleration with very responsive handling.
What’s Special?
The latest offering from Red Bull comes with a two-seater. The model has been treated with a top-class carbon fibre monocoque chassis. It is capable of using heavy aero from both the front and rear of the car. The hypercar also is equipped with push-rod suspension on all four corners, creating a more efficient distribution of weight and management of body roll. The setup works as any other high-performance Formula 1 car.
To offer a rooted driving expirence, the company has added carbon fibre wheels, ranging between 18 to 20 inches. The task has been done by the leading tyre manufacturing company Michelin. They have used advanced technology, which helps the driver to have a quick sharp turn with top-notch stability.
Engine, Power and Transmission
Now, here comes the main part, its powertrain! The jaw-dropping RB17, which looks impressive from the outside, uses a robust 4.5-litre naturally-aspirated V10 engine. The company claims that the vehicle has been designed in such a manner that it can generate over 1,184 BHP at 15,000 rpm.
The power is sent through rear wheels, using in-house developed carbon-fibre transmission The Red Bull claims that RB17 comes with a top speed of 350 km/h, and has an overall weight of 900 kg
