Mercedes-Benz India has announced the launch of the new GLA in the country on 5th July, 2017. The GLA was first launched in India in 2014, and created a benchmark in the compact luxury SUV segment.
Mercedes-Benz has been active in bringing the global portfolio to India and they have already launched 3 products in the last 1 month alone, including the E220d, the AMG G 63 Edition 463 and the Mercedes-AMG GLS 63. The GLA facelift will be the 4th product to join the list.

Mercedes-Benz introduced the facelifted GLA to the world during the Detroit Motor Show this year. The facelifted GLA gets a lot of physical changes from the revised grille, to the LED headlamps and new alloy wheels. Inside the cabin, only a new 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system has been added.
The new 2017 Mercedes-Benz GLA will continue to be powered by a 2.2-litre diesel engine and a 2.0-litre petrol engine. The diesel engine produces a maximum power of 134 bhp along with a torque of 300 Nm. The petrol engine, on the other hand, is capable of 181 bhp and a maximum torque of 300 Nm. The transmission duties are done by a 7-speed automatic transmission gearbox.
The facelifted version of the Mercedes GLA is expected to be priced in line with the current price and will be locally assembled at the company’s plant in Chakan, Maharashtra.
