French automobile manufacturer Citroen has introduced automatic variants for its popular compact SUV, the C3 Aircross AT.
Initially, launched in September 2023 with only a manual transmission option, the C3 Aircross now offers customers the convenience of a 6-speed automatic transmission (torque converter).
With three broad variants – Live, Feel and Max – and the unique option of a 7-seater configuration with removable third-row seats, the C3 Aircross aims to stand out in the competitive compact SUV segment. Let’s delve into the details of the newly introduced automatic variants:
Pricing and Variants:
The automatic transmission is available for the mid-spec Plus 5-seater and the top-spec Max 5-seater and 7-seater variants. The price difference between the manual and automatic variants for these models is Rs 1.3 lakh, making the automatic transmission a premium choice. Unfortunately, the 7-seater Plus variant does not offer the automatic transmission option.
Here’s a quick look at the pricing(all prices, ex-showroom)
- Plus 5-seater (Manual): Rs 11.55 lakh
- Plus 5-seater (Automatic): Rs 12.85 lakh (+ Rs 1.3 lakh)
- Max 5-seater (Manual): Rs 12.20 lakh
- Max 5-seater (Automatic): Rs 13.50 lakh (+ Rs 1.3 lakh)
- Max 7-seater (Manual): Rs 12.55 lakh

Engine Specifications:
Powering the Citroen C3 Aircross is a 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine generating 110 bhp and 190 Nm of torque. The engine is now available with both a 6-speed manual transmission and a 6-speed torque converter automatic. The automatic variant sees a torque output increase to 205 Nm, providing a dynamic driving experience. This enhancement makes the C3 Aircross an appealing option for those seeking a blend of power and efficiency in their compact SUV.
Features and Safety:
Citroen has maintained the feature-rich nature of the C3 Aircross with the introduction of automatic variants.
Noteworthy amenities include a 10.2-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a 7-inch digital driver’s display, steering-mounted audio controls, and a manual air conditioning system.
On the safety front, the SUV is equipped with dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, a hill hold assist, a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), and a rear parking camera.
