American auto giant Chevrolet has revealed the official performance details for the all-new coupe - the 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray.
When mated to the optional $2,800 Z51 Performance Package and $1,795 Magnetic Ride Control suspension system, the 460PS Corvette Stingray can pull off a 0-100 dash in 3.8 seconds, and cover a quarter mile in 12 seconds flat.
Included in the Z51 Performance Package, you'll find enhancements like an electronic limited-slip differential; dry-sump oiling; brake, transmission, and differential cooling, and an upgraded aero package for high-speed stability.
The Corvette Z51 is expected to stop from 100kmph in 107 feet and hit 1.03 g in maximum lateral acceleration. Performance numbers are the same between the standard seven-speed manual and optional six-speed automatic transmission.
Standard equipment on the Stingray includes a carbon-fibre hood and carbon-fiber removable roof panel (for the coupe), an 8-inch touch-sensitive infotainment system with nine-speaker Bose stereo system, Sirius satellite radio and Bluetooth connectivity, LED daytime running lights and eight-way power seats.
Base price for the 2014 Corvette is $51,995 and the one loaded with the performance package will cost $56,590 when it starts arriving in dealerships in September.
