The National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC) has started passenger services at the Meerut South RRTS station as of Sunday, August 18.
This marks a major milestone, with 42 kilometers of the 82-kilometer Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS) corridor now open to the public, according to Financial Express.
The announcement was made via a tweet by Namo Bharat Delhi Meerut: ““Public Notice! The Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut #RRTS corridor is now operational between Sahibabad and Meerut South stations. Tickets for the #NamoBharat Train can be purchased at all stations or via the ‘#RRTSConnect’ app. Thank you for your support.”

Earlier, NCRTC confirmed that the Meerut South station would begin operations at 2 PM on Sunday. With this new section, the RRTS corridor now includes nine stations from Sahibabad in Ghaziabad to Meerut South in Meerut, covering a total of 42 kilometers.

The entire 82-kilometer corridor is expected to be fully operational by June 2025, according to NCRTC officials.
