Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday inaugurated developmental projects of irrigation, power supply, urban infrastructure worth Rs 1,450 crore in Jamnagar. Modi is currently on a 3-day visit to his home state Gujarat where he will inaugurate and lay foundation stone for several development projects.
Earlier today, Modi said ‘Urban Naxals’ were trying to gain entry into Gujarat by changing their appearance, but the state will destroy them. The PM was speaking after laying the foundation stone of the country’s first bulk drug park in Gujarat’s Bharuch district. The project will play a key role in ensuring import substitution and make India self-reliant for bulk drugs, which accounted for more than 60 per cent of the total pharmaceutical imports in 2021-22, as per a government release.

On the first day of his visit, the Prime Minister laid the foundation stone and dedicated various projects worth over Rs 3900 crore to the nation in Modhera, Mehsana. He also declared the village of Modhera as India’s first 24×7 solar-powered village.
PM Modi, during his address, highlighted the mantra of his government–‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas aur Sabka Prayas’ and said it is the foundation of the double-engine government in Gujarat where the Assembly elections will be held later this year.
