India skipper Rohit Sharma scripted history on Saturday as he smacked the Pakistan bowlers all around the park in the moderate 192-run chase in the ICC ODI World Cup match. Rohit enthralled fans at Narendra Modi Stadium and smashed a 36-ball half-century. The swashbuckling opener smashed four sixes en route to his fifty to set the tone for India in the chase.
With his third six of the match, Rohit breached the 300 sixes mark in the One Day Internationals. He became the first Indian to hit the mark, while third overall after Shahid Afridi and Chris Gayle. However, the swashbuckling Indian opener is the fastest to enter the elite list – 254 matches.

Rohit started off the chase with a boundary and didn’t stop after that. He made a mockery of the Pakistan pacers who looked clueless against him. He displayed his six-hitting prowess against Rauf by smashing him over covers, straight down the ground and the pull shot over mid-wicket.
Earlier, in the match against Afghanistan, Rohit became the player to hit the most international sixes by pipping Windies legend Chris Gayle at the top of the tally.
During his 131-run knock, Rohit smashed 16 fours and five sixes as his knock helped India to register a convincing 8-wicket win over Afghanistan at Arun Jaitley Stadium, New Delhi.
Mohammed Siraj and Jasprit Bumrah hoodwinked the Pakistan batters with semi-old ball and a bagful of tricks as India restricted arch-rivals to a lowly 191 in 42.5 overs in a marquee World Cup clash, here on Saturday.
