The left-arm pacer managed to give Australia a good start into the innings picking up the wicket of Shubman Gill early on. He also got the wicket of KL Rahul who scored 66 and was in good touch at the latter stages of the first innings.

Assuming he does not take place in a World Cup fixture in the future, Starc now stands as the second most successful bowler for Australia behind the legendary Glenn McGrath who has finished with a total of 71 wickets.

Starc has already won the 2015 World Cup in a thriller of a final and will hope that the Aussies can cause a shock upset by defeating India in the World Cup finals at Ahmedabad.
